Since then, while I've not heard anything that specifically contradicts this, I have come across a number of articles that, without a hint of ambiguity, say that the man is an anti-Semite of the worst (think Mel Gibson) sort, (at least a third of these dated before 1980, several published as far back as the early 60's). While I'm not losing sleep over it, I am curious enough that at some point, most probably after he passes, I'll try and find something approaching an honest biography (i.e. neither hagiography nor hatchet job) and see if I can get a handle on the guy.
