Or was it a ruthlessly effective raid on “gang activity” that terminated the menace with extreme prejudice? Something so out of character with the U.N. that I never even considered it at first. Kofi Annan as the Eliot Ness of Turtle Bay?

Was this truly a raid on “gang activity” in which they “completely screwed the pooch” by killing innocent people, and are now covering up? Or was this a “politically motivated” attack in which they were brutally successful?

Because they’re going to do such a great job in Iraq once we “do the right thing” and put the blue helmets in charge. Gods, is there any job they’ve taken on, bigger than a state fair swine judging contest, where they haven’t completely screwed the pooch?
