Failed States Index

By Montag | Related entries in The World

The Fund for Peace has created a Failed States Index which tracks twelve social, economic and political indicators, and ranks countries in terms of, well failing-ness. The list only includes 76 countries so far, but the site indicates that they plan to expand the list to eventually include all 191 UN members.

According to the list, the #1 failing state is Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast.) Other notables are #4 Iraq, #10 Haiti, #13 North Korea, #29 Syria and #57 Iran.
