    Justin …

Nice digging on the quote …

Interesting as well, Joe Wilson was interviewed yesterday by Wolf Blitzer on CNN and read from a letter from Bush Sr. that he received after he wrote that Op-Ed piece … Bush Sr. wrote that he “agreed with most of it”, complimented him on writing a good piece and thanked him for his dedicated service to the government …

    Peace

It wasn’t Bush Sr. It was Bush himself.

“Dear Joe: I read your fascinating article, and I agree with a lot of it. I am not sure Saddam Hussein will back down in the face of this latest challenge, but I certainly hope he will. Further, let me conclude by saying thank you very much for your letter. Further, I have great respect for you and for your service to our country. I hope you know that. Warm regards, George Bush.”

Thanks, you just gave me a great idea for a piece.

Woops. Nope, it was papa Bush. My apologies for the error.

Justin, what is your point really, that such an apt quote would be referenced?

I mean, if President Bush got caught in an affair with an intern, would you predict some old quotes might get brought up, too?:)

The idea of the current Bush writing a letter like that made me (literally) laugh out loud, which is a bit sad.

I just wanted to see what type of responses people would have to it and I found it interesting that kos picked it up a couple days after I posted it. And I too think it’s apt, but ultimately just a random quote from Bush’s father. I’m sure he made many similar to it.
