		<description>If the conventional wisdom is true, I say let him through.  Put him through arduous guestioning especially regarding executive powers - given his ruling on enemy combatants and military tribunals.  Then let him have a vote.  Janice Rogers Brown or Edith Jones would&#039;ve been a different story.

On a purely political level, the Democrats would be wise to allow a vote, get him off the front page and keep Iraq and Rove on it - which means they&#039;ll probably do the opposite and get their butts kicked by the Republicans.

Democrats might not like his conservative credentials but given his previous confirmation record, I think Democrats, apart from the likes of Senator Kennedy, will find it difficult not to confirm this appointment.
