Ahmadinajad says that Iran is pursuing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. I guess we should take his word for it. Powerline always seems to be vilifying that guy too!

Besides, CAIR condemning terrorism is like the Ku Klux Klan condemning lynching. I guess its time for the President to get a photo-op while shaking the hand of the Grand Dragon.

I'm just curious: how is demonstrating that the fatwa is bogus, and shedding light on the questionable (to put it very mildly) activities of those involved "vilification" ... or "powerline-approved" for that matter?

[...] Donklephant had a good post about this, with the author, Justin Gardner writing: You can’t define the majority by the minority, and hopefully stories like this will help the small minority on this site who condemn Islam to realize that. [...]

Whoops, I wasn't quite finished. :) I meant to add that these American Muslim leaders are showing bravery for standing up to the extremists, and should be commended for that bravery.

As I've mentioned in other posts, Muslims that dare to challenge the agenda and/or methods of Islamic supremacists are basically making themselves enemies of the supremacists (who regard Muslim opponents as having abandoned Islam), and therefore potential targets themselves. Fear of reprisal is probably the main reason so many American Muslims have stayed on the sidelines for as long as they have. That they're coming out now suggests that they're finally getting over that fear and ready to take a stand to prevent the Islamic supremacists from tainting their faith any further.
