Associated Press: Video: al-Qaida Vows More Attacks Vs. West

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri threatened more destruction in London, saying in a videotape broadcast Thursday that British Prime Minister Tony Blair would be to blame.

Al-Zawahri also threatened the United States with tens of thousands of military dead if it does not withdraw its troops from Iraq immediately.

    From al-Zawahiri’s statement (this excerpt appeared in MSNBC.com’s story on the statement, not in the Yahoo article):

    “As to the nations of the crusader alliance, we have offered you a truce if you leave the land of Islam.�

    Notice his choice of words - he offers only a truce - as opposed to a permanent peace - if the West leaves Muslim lands. So, even if the U.S. and Britain were to comply with this, what would al Qaeda demand of us when they inevitably decide to end this truce?

    i call bull— on this too. AQ did not leave us alone 9/11/2001 and to that day we did not do squat. this is just psych-op against the west .
