Yes, let's go ahead and nominate this potentially brand new member (Roberts) of the Supreme Court for the CHIEF JUSTICE position right out of the gate. AND, so what if it's a lifetime position . . . . If this guy can't cut it as a Chief Justice, there will be no way to get rid of him. I guess this is just one of my worries come true - Bush won in 2004, and he is going to pack every branch of our government with people, that in one way or another, are not going to be good for this country. Sure, it's too early to tell whether Roberts will be good, bad or indifferent. However, do we really trust Bush's judgment on these things anymore? How many more times does he have to screw up before people will admit that he's a bad president? that this country made a mistake in re-electing him? And speaking of appointments . . . . It also is stupefying that Bush would have appointed Brown to his position given that Brown had virtually no qualifications for the job. He certainly was not the most qualified candidate and Bush should have stayed with Clinton's FEMA director. Maybe some Bush supporters (those dyed in the wool folks), can explain this because I am at a loss.
