Alito Perspective

When I was local news editor at a small daily newspaper west of Philadelphia, we had a regular flow of court cases of local interest in Philadelphia federal courts, but insufficient resources to cover them all. So I convinced the paper to hire a young guy in the city who was making a living by freelancing court coverage. His name was Shannon Duffy, and he was legally savvy, journalistically flawless, and never missed a deadline. It’s been gratifying to watch his star rising since then.

With his Philadelphia base, he’s had a chance to observe our latest Supreme Court nominee at close range. Here’s his take on Alito.
