Actually, the most telling quote, to me, was one I found buried deep in the sidebar of the Houston Chronicle coverage:

Near the end of his speech, Chavez talked about growing up in the Venezuelan countryside, where peasants bring their pigs to slaughter every Saturday.

Predicting the eventual demise of the United States, Chavez said: “Just like Saturday awaits every pig, Saturday awaits for every empire.”

Haven’t seen that one anywhere else. Interesting.

Yep, it would have been priceless to see Chavez’s reaction if Pat Robertson had been in the crowd : )

Maybe W should have brought Pat Robertson along as an “advisor”.

Peaceful? The protestors are setting fires and looting property. I’d hardly call that peaceful. It’s the same thing that happens every time the WTO meets.
