In Texas, the voters approved a constitutional ban on same sex marriage. No surprise there.

To be technical, the ban includes marriage as well - the language is that legal r/ships "identical to marriage" are not to be recognised and, well, marrige strikes me as pretty much identical to marriage :)

For what it's worth, both of the Twin Cities also had their mayoral elections on Tuesday. Both the Minneapolis and St. Paul races were Democrat vs. Democrat. The Minneapolis incumbent, R.T. Rybak, cruised to re-election over Peter McLaughlin. Across the river in St. Paul, incumbent Randy Kelly was soundly defeated by Chris Coleman. Kelly's defeat was attributed not to dissatisfaction over his job performance, but to his crossing party lines to support President Bush in 2004.
