Iraq War History Lesson

By Denise Best | Related entries in In The News, War

Inquiring minds want to know …

-Did the Iraqi War begin strictly as a response to the 9/11 attacks?

-What factor did faulty intelligence play in leading the U.S. into the war?

-Was the war waged exclusively upon a crusading fervor shown by G.W. Bush?

-Were Cheney and Rummy marvelous manipulators and shamelessly spinning the situation in Iraq?

Read through the timeline presented and see whether or not there’s more to the situation that we’re trying grappling with today.

Perhaps there’s more history which needs to be revisited in order to gain a more complete and accurate picture?

Granted, the focus should be upon strategy, planning, and executing for the future. Since there’s such a fixation upon determining fault and motivation though, let’s make certain, as this examination is conducted in the media and various forums, that we have the “rest of the (hi)story.”
