1) Both parties more or less spin their wheels in the 2006 elections - the GOP holding onto both houses of Congress but making small net gains at most vis-a-vis the Democrats. The GOP's appetite for pork will come back to haunt them and hinder their ability to take advantage of the Dems' weakness with the public on terrorism and Iraq.

2) If talk of impeachment of President Bush ever moves beyond the speculation/wishful-thinking stage it's in now, look for the GOP's conservative wing to try to short-circuit it the way they short-circuited John Murtha's call for early withdrawal from Iraq, by drawing up articles of impeachment themselves and getting the full House to vote on them as quickly as possible, fully expecting them to get shot down in flames just as quickly. (By drawing up the articles themselves, conservative Republicans also would create the illusion of bipartisan, albeit still limited, support for impeachment, thus simultaneously stealing some of the Left's thunder and serving notice to Bush that he's not earned their unqualified support.)

Most certainly a Congressional investigation into the spy business.

I would hope a Democrat Party with alternative solutions to the GOP and not be simply against the GOP and Bush.

Hillary Clinton gearing up for a Presidential run and the first woman with a real chance of being elected President. Nigeria has its first head of state as a woman now and England had Lady Thatcher years ago as PM is high time the US gets with the rest of the world a break that glass ceiling in a country known for its freedom.
