No, not the movie kind. The real kind.
Andrew Sullivan points out a heartbreaking true story.
And to that point, I saw Brokeback Mountain recently and trust me, it lives up to the hype. Yes, I did cringe when I saw the previews, but the film is honest, sober and effective. Even that line, “I wish I could quit you!” is perfectly placed in the context of the story. In short, I highly recommend it.
Also, here’s something interesting about Brokeback…
solid No. 1 win at the box office Tuesday and Wednesday despite playing just 682 theaters. With about $740,000 both days, Focus’ cowboy love story beat “Glory Road,” which was on 2,222 playdates, by approximately $50,000 Tuesday and $100,000 Wednesday.
Is this the watershed film some had hoped? It certainly seems like it could be..

At least in terms of property division, there is another way to skin the cat (other than civil unions) for homosexual couples — it is called a Will and they are remarkably effective legal instruments for executing the desires of the deceased.

Having now actually read Sullivan’s peice, I see there was a will but that it was defective. That is too bad.
