Obama And McCain Kiss And Make Up

Well, they made up at least…

From Fox News:

WASHINGTON Two leaders in current efforts to reduce special interest influence on Congress once again appeared to be fighting on the same side Wednesday, two days after an unusually fiery falling out.

Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., testified together at a Senate hearing on lobbying and ethics overhaul. With a pat on the back and an exchange of compliments, they publicly put in the past an angry letter from McCain charging that Obama was more interested in scoring political points than in working together on the ethics issue.

“I’m particularly pleased to be sharing this panel with my pen pal, John McCain, and look forward to working with him,” Obama said at the Senate Rules Committee hearing.

Didn’t McCain call Obama out on playing politics? What would you call this?

I don’t know what I would call it, but it’s funny to me that he called McCain his “pen pal.” Oh Obama . . . .

PS - McCain remains on my shit list after his ridiculous letter to Obama. It’s not that I won’t go back to liking him, but I will be watching closely - as if he cares. Who do I think I am anyway?

Everytime I get to the point of thinking McCain is a republican I could get behind, he does something to remind me that the RNC doesn’t give folks too long a leash. I’ve been continuously perplexed after reading his most excellent book dealing with honor and integrity under duress that he will continue to pose, smiling with members of this administration who stole the South Carolina primary and, thus, possibly his presidency using the most despicable tricks in Rove’s bags. Then again, people can rationalize amazing things when they must.
