Bloomberg For President?

The “Republican” (RINO) is thinking about going for it all.
Via Political Wire:
Political insiders say a close aide to New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s (R) has been pushing a 2008 bid, reports the New York Observer. The plan would have Bloomberg run as an independent or Democrat.Said political consultant Bob Shrum: ‘”He would have a very strong record to run on. That old Dukakis line might have some resonance, though it didn’t work for Dukakis: The issue in this election is competence.”
Well, his plan to run as an independent or a Dem is certainly a smart one, since Guiliani has fallen out of favor as the Repub candidate come 2008. And frankly Rudy is radioactive given his social views. Also, no serious Repub canddiate would pick Rudy for a VP spot, unless they were already guaranteed the nod. And even then, they’d probably piss off so many of the Repub faithful, that they wouldn’t win the whole shebang. And I think that’s why Bloomberg is leaning left, because he only ran as a Repub in the first place…so he could win. At least that’s what I remember when he was elected.
More to come.

Honestly, I think my favorite politicians are the ones that don’t give a crap about what party they’re in.

I am a little suspicious of those who hold no party allegiance over the years and where it doesn’t matter to them. It mattered to the parties. It mattered to those who were in the battle and suffered injury. But granted one thing, I look to something refreshing as compared to the old game, and I’m finding that newness in Gov Mark Warner.
Now he’s a conservative democrat, yet he seems progressive in the right places. With it. Like JFK.
And I think that for him, there’s a reason yet to his being a Democrat.

It is refreshing to see candidates and politicians that do not act as partisans. The parties are important and always will be due to their ability to organize support and money, but it is excellent to see those that put policy ahead of politics.

I fully support Bloomberg for president. I am happy to work for his election. (I have never done this before for any candidate, but this guy has deep wisdom and judgment. I think he is right for our times)

I like to see Christopher Snyder’s comment above.
Michael Bloomberg is a sign of all that is good with America.
