When I saw this, last week, I experienced one of those rare moments when "jaw-dropping" is a literal description. But after a moment, I thought: This is just too good to be true. It would have been an imminently bloggable thing for me, except that I wanted to know whether it was "for real," or some sort of parody, or a plant. Thinking about what that would take, I lost my burning interest.

As for the sample pages, the text is is secondary to me. It's the illustrations that are priceless, I think.

The other thing is that this book almost immediately jumped to mind. It's a complete hoot, and we had it in one of our bathrooms for the longest time until the day--and I swear I'm not making this up--my son, while still in his projectile stage, spewed upon it past all redemption from an amazing distance away. (His daddy's nickname for him wasn't Spufford for nothing, you know.)

That was a fine day, a fine day. (I must say that I sort of missing having that book around, however.)

It's never too early to start the political indoctrination of your kids, Callimachus. If you were a squirrel, you'd know that.
