Yes i first heard about Jack wild when pufnstuf was out, but by the time nz got it, he was married, and had done , melody, singing, the 14, flight of the doves, etc. He was as cute as a button when very young, still cute older, even after not getting much work because of his looks fadeing, he was getting older, cant expect to want to play little childrens parts. I thought he was about 10 when i saw pufnstuf. its funny how his brother Arthur just a year older, hes 5 foot 6, and Jack 4 foot sometthing then , 5 foot 3. There was so much he wanted to do, not enough time. Pity he never had a family.N guidelines from his manager, and hangers on, you would think his parents would of stepped in, they were more interested in what they could get out of him.He will always be remembered.

Just found out he died and I am quite upset, more than I would have ever guessed. He was an immense talent that was not fully exploited. His Dodger will NEVER be surpassed. I worry what happened to that charming little boy and hope he didn't become a Bill Sykes!

I wish more of Jack's work was attainable for home viewing. He will be missed. And, it must be said, he had maybe the more beautiful face in cinematic history!

Jack Wild fue único. I still enjoy his movies. It's true, he was born to play those characters- and he would have played many more with that incredible talent. He was a natural. He is timeless for me.

Pufnstuf lame? brilliance it was. and just for your reference, McDonalds stole the costumes from the Kroffts.

Jack Wild was an incomparable actor. His life was so different from his characters, but he was born to play them. Dodger, Ornshaw, Jimmy...and many others. It's a shame that his talent wasn't appreciated enough whilst he was still here. Films like Melody and The 14 are overwhelming and memorable, due to the unsurpassed acting of Jack Wild. His cheeky demeanour stole the show in Oliver. Even after having part of his tongue and voicebox removed he performed in the panto Cinderella.
Many a young girl fell hopelessly in love for the first time with Jack Wild, and he shall live forever in our hearts.

And all I can think of is, how did “Pufnstuf get the reputation as “psychedelic?

According to Wikipedia, this reputation is prevalent only among drug users. So, I guess you and I will never quite get it.
