First of all, I’d like to get in a shameless plug for my still-sort-of-new blog, Storming Jericho (the title refers to my biblical namesake, not the recent Palestinian prison raid, though I did comment on that), for those of you who haven’t already checked it out. My latest post is on Iraq.
I also reviewed V for Vendetta after seeing it over the weekend. Has anyone else here seen it? What did you think of it?

I think that I recognize the Donklephant at the top of the blog from my matches on e-harmony. How is she doing? Is she still a crane operator? Does she still enjoy “eating,” “acting silly,” and “reading luts of Daniel Steele boooks”? Has she experienced any painful urination or unusual itching in the past few months? Thanks for any updates you give.

Since I started reading Donklephant I stopped leaving my house. I’ve also gained 300 lbs, failed a Rorschach test and developed unsightly toenail fungus. Curse you

I dug V quite a bit and would probably see it again. But it wasn’t a “great” movie.
One suggestion for your blog Joshua, don’t put your review in white letters. If people don’t want to read spoilers, just put SPOILERS!!! in the title.

For a snicker, check out the suggestion when you Google “Donklephant”:

Jeff, I bet what you said is really funny, but I don’t get it.

TallDave…nice one.

Meredith,
It might not be funny. My attempts at humor have failed miserably before.
Basically, I was trying to say e-harmony blows. I was implying that the women that eharmony wants to pimp me out to are ugly (like the donklephant) and stupid (hobbies: eating, etc.). I wanted to further imply that despite this, I still hook up with them and give them STDs.
Either way, I had fun writing it. So, in the end, I’m a winner.

Jeff,
Oh, I get it. Yes, it was very funny. I’m so sorry that your wife hunting is not going well. I guess the idea of polygamy (as it has been talked about on this blog a lot lately) makes you feel even more frustrated. If you can’t find one wife, imagine how hard it would be to find several wives. That’s not to say that if it weren’t so hard to accomplish, you wouldn’t be all for it. But, unless you could find a bunch of stupid, subservient wives, I’m guessing that more than one would be way too many.
Kevin,
Don’t worry. I have developed toenail fungus as well. Now I know where it came from - it’s been quite a stumper. Maybe we could file a suit, especially if we can find more cases of Donklephant causing toenail fungus. Are you in?
Justin,
Could you please look into making Donklephant toenail fungus free? If that’s not possible, could you at least list the side effects of Donklephant, so that we may all be pre-warned in the future?

Wow. As if there weren’t enough reasons to hate Texas:

1. I love Barack Obama.
2. I hate freakin’ Strawmen arguments about Strawmen, and I actually think I hate the words “strawmen” and “strawman.”
3. Texas - Jeezus.
“There are a lot of dangerous and stupid things people do when they’re intoxicated, other than get behind the wheel of a car,” Beck said. “People walk out into traffic and get run over, people jump off of balconies trying to reach a swimming pool and miss.”
There are, actually, the second and third most popular causes of the deaths of intoxicated people. That was so perceptive!

Has anyone read this NY Times article about the memo from a Blair/Bush meeting in 1/03?

The BBC wrote about it here:

I think that the worst part of it is Bush talking about flying a plane in UN colors across Iraq, hoping to provoke Hussein into firing on it, and thus creating an excuse to go to war.
Yeah, Bush never wanted war. Sure. He was just looking for ways to provoke it while telling the public that he was working hard to avoid it.
