I would like to see more issue/solution advocacy. There are plenty of blogs were I can read about how stupid either political party is, but I like to visit the centrist blogs because they tend to focus more on the political plot rather than the political players.

For example, even though I think it is a dumb idea I liked that you wrote a piece about Charles Murray’s $10K for everyone plan and I also liked your Mass healthcare story from yesterday. Both of those stories offered a solution to a very real problem and encouraged debate about the proposed solutions instead of the politicians or the partisans.

The story you wrote about Markos and DailyKos the other day is a good example of something that is available in quantitiy all over the blogosphere. It also got my partisan Democratic dander up which may or may not be the result you were looking for but, again there are hundreds of other blogs that will do the same. In my mind the things that make Donklephant stand out is its politically diverse contributors and commentors and its frequent focus on the issues instead of the politics.

I’d like to see a little more coverage of “under-the-radar” issues that don’t get much coverage in either the MSM or the blogosphere, but still have potentially great political impact. Granted, identifying such stealth issues is tricky, but I think you guys and gals are up to the challenge.

One example that comes to mind is the latest Republican-led attempt to prevent Americans from gambling over the Internet (which I just blogged about again last night), despite the fact that millions of Americans are at least casual online gamblers (PokerStars alone has over five million users, the bulk of them American). Is the GOP really prepared to alienate that many voters?

More details about who are the centrists we could be supporting and how.

Links to the commentary of political professionals who know what they are talking about when it comes to moving politics towards the middle.

What works, or not, for getting money to centrist candidates.

Coverage of an impeachment… now that’s what I would really like to see here and many other places. :-)

I would like to see more photographs of Barack Obama.

Also, I like to read facts. Since it’s sometimes hard to get them from other places, it would be good if we could get them here. Many posts include facts, but often certain facts are cited to “win” an argument instead of reported so that your readers can learn something. I think your piece on Charles Murray’s idea was a good example of presenting facts about an issue you ran across, offering a little of your opinion, and then opening up the discussion to let us say what we thought about it. Even though many people did not like it, after reading your post they could probably explain the facts about the program to someone else. This is a good thing.

But, seriously, more photos of Barack.

[...] I thought Justin’s question of “what do you want to see more of here” was a good one, and I hope I can take the answers to heart. [...]

Pointers to Centrist Pols that are actually running.
    And here is a challenge:

How about an article positing the characteristics of a good, solid centrist platform … one that identifies some basic principles …. like some conservative principles that are good, some liberal principles that are good … and some that are bad from both sides … a kind of forum to form some level of consensus …. not just a wish list, but something with some real identity.
