Heh!
I can really see this. I have a kid, only a kindergarten, who already is perfect the art of not wanting to get into his day on demand. He’ll put up with about two questions and then wants to change the subject (it doesn’t matter, by the way, whether his day was good, bad, or indifferent, by his lights or by ours). In fact, he says that explicitly as in, for example, “I don’t want to discuss it anymore. I want to talk about … .”
He will, however, draw pictures or scribble words on occasion, spontaneously.
I can see him, one day, deciding he’d prefer to just keep a blog. Goodness knows, from birth, he’s used to seeing me on a computer doing one thing or another.
And he’s been able to use the word “font,” for example, spontaneously and correctly in conversation for more than a year.
Poor kid.

Now, me–I can run at both the mouth and at the fingers.
My son’s dad is more of the “still waters” type, and he wouldn’t be caught dead blogging. It’s a fairly big deal that my husband will read what I blog, at least some of it; he’s strictly a slashdot etc. and guitar message-board type, otherwise.
So maybe it makes sense that my son is a hybrid–of course, with a twist uniquely his own.
It’ll be fun to see how it turns out.

Terrible cartoon. It’s one of those slightly bitter slice-of-live things. Just like Ziggy cartoons. Terrible.

When my daughter wants to vent to me about her day, she asks if I’ve taken the dog out on a walk yet. The answer, of course, is always “No, I haven’t done that yet.” I treasure evening walks with the dog.

Did someone just compare that to Ziggy???
