At first I thought this was a stupid idea. It’s just a picture. You can’t know anything about it without a context, and you can’t say anthing about it until you know something about it. Boy, was I wrong.

Of course he stole it. That’s why we’re IN Iraq. It’s never been about freedom or oil. It’s about the children’s bikes. I’ve said so all along: No blood for bikes. But no one would listen….

What makes you think he stole it? Maybe he asked the kid if he could ride his bike.

I always wondered where the bikes with banana seats
and sissy bars went.

I would be cool to see a .50 cal mounted to the handlebars.

So the guy stole a kid’s bike . . . . The worst part about that type of crap is that he is clearly too big for it and will probably break it if he actually tries to ride it. I hate it when adults try to ride on kids toys!

My nephew did several stints in Iraq as a Ranger. He’s now working for Blackwater. In the early days of the war, his unit was moving very quickly, and as mobile equipment broke down, they “commandeered” vehichles from civilians. Among the vehichles were a taxi and a large dump truck. At some point, the cab driver somehow found the unit, and raised hell about them stealing his cab. The cab was too shot up
to be servicable any more, so they gave him the dump truck…

Dos – that was hilarious! Actually I just read an account of a soldier stealing a motorcycle in Bagdad just for the “ride”. It wa almost a disaster when he stalled out in a bad area. “The Last True Story I’ll Ever Tell : An Accidental Soldier’s Account of the War in Iraq: Books: John Crawford”. It is a quick read … I recommend it.

In response to growing criticism that U.S. military personnel lack necessary equipment, Donald Rumsfeld announces the DOD’s new “Every soldier gets a bike” initiative. “Road side bombs are very hard to trigger on one of these bad bodys” Rumseld announced, “And doing wheelies while shooting a machine gun is like totally wicked. Winning hearts and minds, people!”
