Dear Tammy,

I am so sorry about your Dad. I am going to try to find you and express our sympathies. Wow, this is a really bad time. Know we are thinking of you and your family.

I just think it would be more effective to sit the Shiites and the Sunnis down and say, "Cut the camel shit." They might not understand the American term "bullshit" and they could actual try to cut bullshit in the belief that this is a ritualistic peacemaking cermony. Just a thought. Unexpected consequences.

"McCain was, of course, in New York City not only to give commencement speeches and get heckled"

Jean Rohe’s speech at the New School, Which she admittedly described as a pre-emptive attack, was somewhat disturbing. I didn't find it disturbing because she spoke her mind... or that she engendered the philosophy of the liberal left and garnered much praise form that constituency .... but rather her lack of understanding ... her lack of recognition of McCain's true sacrifice ... and the embodiment of that sacrifice as a primary reason for ability to have the pulpit of dissent.

Comparitively, McCain survived (5) years of captivity, refused an early release to stay with fellow POW's and went on to a lifetime of public service. A hero!

Jean Rohe "survived" four years of college and learned how to "cherry pick" the advance copy of McCain's speech. A hero?

That aside, McCain has been in ploitics for so long that he is aware that he could win .... or lose. The key difference is that he is suiting up and running onto the field, while many of his detractors are "shouting from the stands".

College grads can be forgiven ... for their education has just begun.

My opinion is expressed in your opening ...he is profane, independent, and cranky ... good attributes at this particular time.

Well on Subject 2 Discussion podcast, I did let McCain have it a bit. If you will recall he was involved in the Keating 5 banking scandal. That cost US billions of dollars of our tax dollars.

McCain needs air let out of his overblown ego.

McCain probably has less of a chance of reconciling Sunnis and Shiites by telling them to “stop the bullshit.

Probably, but maybe that's the approach they need. "Hey you! Reconcile after 60 years of constant sectarian tension!!!"
