Why Haven’t I Been Posting Lately?
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Technology
When I’m not exploring politics with all of you, I’m a communications manager for a search technology company called kozoru. I’ll have more on Monday when we launch our new product byoms but until then take a look at some of the press we’ve been getting.
‘Investigating BYOMS with Kozoru Founder John Flowers’, Search Engine Journal
‘IM gets byoms from Kozoru’, Geek.com
‘A Know-It-All IM Buddy’, MIT Tech Review
‘Kozoru To Launch Chat-Based Search Technology, Byoms’, Search Engine Watch
‘Start-up retrofits search for IM’, CNET
‘Search technology goes mobile’, Kansas City Star
I’m sure I’ll get back into the swing of things after the launch.
UPDATE:
Quick show of hands, who didn’t like the fact that I posted this? I was frankly surprised at some of the comments, but if you all don’t like me posting stuff like this, I won’t.
UPDATE for Bob Aman:
It’s pronounced Bye-Ohms.

I’ve gotta pimp. It’s been two years of hard work to get to this point. :-D

Do you walk to school or carry your launch?

At first… I was put off by the blatant hproduct hawking … but, I have decided to let “BYOMS be BYOMS”

Let’s see, how much did we pay to read this blog? Nothing? Then I guess it’s your blog and you can post what you like.

I can’t blame you Justin. I took a look at it and its a program that I’d actually use. So come Monday I’ll be signing up for the beta.

If you are the overlord of Donklephant I don’t see a problem with you posting about projects you are involved with. Seems like an interesting search tool too.

Didn’t look like pimping to me. I was curious where you had been, now I know.

What’s the plural form of BYOMS?
June 4th, 2006 at 6:21 pm
Yup. It’s his site. If you don’t like it, go read something else.

<3 Marketing Guru.
It’s probably an awesome idea, but it sounds to me like it’ll end up being seen as more of a tech-demo for the natural language stuff you guys did than anything else.

I didn’t mind. In my first comment I was being facetious. If I had minded I would have said, “I don’t come here to listen to you hawk your wares.”

I played around with it a bit, sure enough, the NLP stuff seems to be really great work. It understood my convoluted queries quite well. However, sometimes it took a long time to give back results, especially with the Wikipedia agent, and not once did I find the results more useful than a well-crafted google keyword search.
Basically, still needs some quality loving. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

total bull crap man – I can’t stand your personal shilling in a previously unsullied animal activist community resource.
Save the donklephants!

Thanks for the feedback. Right now we’re beta so we’re definitely trying to find a nice balance between speed and accuracy.
By the way, what do you mean by “well-crafted” search? Meaning you do site restriction and then search for the keywords with boolean operators?
Drop me an email to explain more.
Haha, very funny Garrett. Thanks again for the interview.

Justin G.,
as you can see I am a newbie here. I don’t have a microsoft account, so I’ll put my request here: I would like to be a contributor.
That way, I don’t have to keep pushing those year old threads up.
Don’t know what this site looked/performed before, but I think it’s cool.
BTW, my name is Lisa S.
