    Good God! How hyper sensitive are these people?? This guy spent less than a month in their country as part of a tournament and he’s supposed to give a shit about there juvenial sensitivities? The only people who might have the smallest right to be miffed are the Ghanians, as he was showing more loyalty to his club team than to his country. But seriously, this is worth conspiracy theories?

    As for my take on the picture: Sweet, the US might have a chance to advance after all and damn I wish I could catch more of these games on TV. Work sucks.

    I didn’t even notice what he was holding until I saw the other pictures and read the article.

    But , good gods, the man isn’t even FROM Egypt. Is he supposed to toe the Egyptian line just because his native country shares the continent with Egypt? Un-freakin’-real.

    I don’t get it. Is this really big news or just a case of cultural over reaction. Is this guy in danger if he returns to an arab country? Or will they ignore it? Why is this news?

    This thing is news because this is the Superbowl of soccer. Riting and looting usually follow a World Cup victory, and that is what happens in the winning team’s country! People lose their minds when this tournament is on but, quite frankly, I could give two shits about the whole thing.

    Egypt is still sore after getting thier asses kicked by Israel back in the early 70′s. The World Cup is an opportunity for old rivalries to compete on the playing field instead of a battlefield.

    I watched them do this on TV, but it flashed by so fast I didn’t see the Star of David on the flag. IIRC Chelsea of the English Premier League has a similar shade of blue as its main color, so I thought maybe it was a Chelsea flag.

    As it happens, Ghana is also the next opponent for Team USA.
