New York Subway Plot Roundup

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in The War On Terrorism

Not much to say about this right now except that two terrorism plots (Sears Towerbeing the other) caught in the very early stages = great news.

And that’s where the silver lining can be found. The “Miami Seven” were apparently not very smart and their plans were early. This latest plot is being characterized as more the work of a “lone wolf” who was just beginning to find willing participants.

Could this be a sign that extremist Islam is becoming increasingly unpopular? Well, consider my fingers crossed.

it’s looking like their “suspected ringleader” was just bragging about how he was a terror mastermind about to go on Jihad in a chat room probably to pick up some underage nookie, not unlike a certain Brian Doyle, formerly of the Department of Homeland Security.

    Listen to the press conference.

FBI spokesmodels said that the investigation was started nearly a year ago, that they had no evidence that Andalousli (or any of the others in this “cell”) had previously been to America, that he (they) had not attempted to obtain explosive materials, “had no done no reconisance” and had real knowledge of Manhattan since the plan was to flood the above-sea-level island, had no means of travel to America to carry out any threats, and that no charges were filed nor were any charges pending, and for that reason they were not going to discuss any further details about the case!! Mayor Bloomberg said, “There was not one shred of evidence this had gone beyond the planning stage.”

The press conference seemed more a plea by Bloomberg to get DHS terror funds re-directed back to New York City. Amazingly, there were no calls to burn down the New York Daily News as there had been for the New York Times only a week ago. The Daily News had been tipped off about the plot and just co-incidently published on the anniversary of the London subway bombings, which was guaranteed to get the story major coverage. I wonder just who had access to that information and might have wanted it leaked??

Raw Story confirms the lack of a threat.

The Miami terror suspects aren’t Muslim, they’re some strain or crossbreeding of Christianity.

As for the New York plot, it looks like nothing, some people just talking junk. There’s been cases in the past where the FBI person shows up undercover and tries talking people into carrying it out, pressing and encouraging until they agree to the plan and then get arrested.

Less popular, or just that these are the ones we’re able to find?

Don’t know. Only the future can tell us that.

But I think it’s significant that these suspects are being reported when so few have been reported within our borders.
