Ahmedinejad Sees Halo on Himself and Declared Prophet
By Ali Eteraz | Related entries in Breaking News, NewsA friend of mine got some Iranian news sources which reveal a lot of strange theological powers being given to Ahmedinejad, including the fact that he saw a halo around himself and that he might be the next Muslim Prophet. I have a full list here.

With any luck, the next elections in Iran will tarnish his halo a bit.

I have to ask. How is it possible for a Muslim to do this, whether Shai or Sunni? I’m not a scholar of Islam but the whole “Mohammed is the seal of the prophets” seemed pretty clear to me.

Super. This is a good example of why I believe we should all be more concerned about mental health issues.

I suggest you correct your claim. In the quote it says “if” there was another prophet after….
The article at the link you provide list different quotes and rethorically asks if he is declaared prophet.
It is a fundamental belief that Mohamed (SA) is that LAST as kevin pointed.

Sunnis believe that Mohammad is the seal of prophets and recieved the final prophecy; however it is also belived that a prophet who existed before Mohammad will be re-incarnated during the apocalypse and lead an army to cleanse the world of non-Muslims. And that prophet is…
Jesus Christ.
Yes, the Muslims call him ‘Isa’ and will be revealed at Mecca when the Mahdi (like a John the Baptist figure) peaches there. From the Hadiths:
I don’t know how Isa plays into the Shiite eschatology. Maybe Ahmadinajad is setting himself up to be Isa..holy shit..maybe he’s the biblical Anti-Christ LOL!!!

Tchakra, thanks: I omitted to put a question mark when I posted here. On my blog there is a question mark.
Jimmy, as far as I know, shias do not accept the Sunan of abu dawud as authoritative.
Further, there is significant difference between sunnis as to there is going to be an isa by himself, mahdi by himself, or isa and mahdi together, or neither.
there is nothing in the quran to suggest there will be a mahdi. a only a vague possble reference to jesus (although its unclear what the verse means).
i believe neither are coming.

The only authority on the return of the Messiah (Jesus) is the Bible. It is wholly irrelevant what any other unauthorized writings says about Him or His return. The Bible contains all the prophecies that are relevant regarding the pre-tribulation rapture of the faithful believers in Messiah Jesus. God has not called His faithful to His wrath, but His wrath is alrteady upon all who do not believe. His second coming at the end of the Great Tirbulation to put down the nations and the antichrist and take-up the initially established Kingdom of God on this Earth with His millennial reign is His prophesied victory over death, hell and Satan. The future of all mankind is held in Yeshua’s (Jesus) hands.
Obviously, the sooner you repent and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, the better that the future will go for you.
