Foley Offered to Meet Pages Offline?
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in General Politics, LawIn addition to explicit sexual language, former Congressman Mark Foley’s Internet messages also include repeated efforts to get the underage recipient to rendezvous with him at night.“I would drive a few miles for a hot stud like you,” Foley said in one message obtained by ABC News.
The FBI says it has opened a “preliminary investigation” of Foley’s e-mails. Federal law enforcement officials say attempts by Foley to meet in person could constitute the necessary evidence for a federal charge of “soliciting for sex” with a minor on the Internet.
That’s the biggie. If he was trying to solicit something online with a minor, then his goose probably cooked and he could be looking at some serious jail time.
Meanwhile, Foley has checked into rehab for “alcohol and behavioral issues.”

I think it’s interesting that in the midst of a sex scandal, one would check into an alcohol rehab facility.

It’s the standard routine: denial, confession, rehab, Oprah. It doesn’t matter if he’s not even an alcoholic, he has to do rehab: it’s in the rules.

Well, it does make some sort of “sense” since he’s claiming “behavioral issues” - and of course (tongue in cheekism at full throttle), alcohol MAKES YOU DO STUFF like that.
Regardless that numerous studies over many years prove that alcohol (whether to excess or not) reduces libido…. as in, what’s the first thing the doc asks you when you tell him you not only can’t maintain an erection, you can’t get it up to begin with? “How much alcohol are you ingesting in a 24 hour period? And how much over 7 of those 24 hour periods?”
Nope. I’m not (thank the goddess) male. But I do have some background with men with “the problem”. None of them routinely try to seduce young males for (presumably) sexual encounters. None of them routinely try to seduce young FEMALES ditto….
Which begs the question entirely from the Hastert angle.

I’d be doing a lot more drinking and screwing if those were the rules for real life.

Hey rehab is the modernist religion. It’s like going to Church without all the “sin” stuff. In another 20 years Justin’s children will be going on about the seperation between state and rehab.

People wake up. Foley’s not an alcoholic. This is obviously part of his smokescreen.

Jessie: I believe I stated above “tongue in cheekism at full throttle”.

Did Foley want to “do” these guys…or did he want to “kick back” and have them do him (eeewww!)?
