While I hold none of the animosity towards Wittman or Lieberman that the previous commentors seem to possess, I had found Wittman's infatuation with Lieberman to be a little too much. Joe is hardly the only independent voice and he's as much a typical oportunistic politician as he is a bold trailblazer. But Wittman had stars in his eyes... Marshall has never been "a Democrat" and has said many times that his ideal candidate for President is John McCain who most agree is a moderate conservative. More than anything else, Marshall Whittman is pro-war. He's as hawkish as anyone on the right including the neocons. He is pro-labor and gives lip-service to the environment. I guess that's what makes him a centrist. If you listen to him attack Democrats he typically uses Republican polemics which makes him ineffective as a force within Democratic circles. In short, he has the diplomatic skills of a Don Rumsfeld. In his defence, he's been particularly hard on the Republicans the last 2 years except where issues of war are a concerned. He's Nationalistic to a fault.
