How much scrutiny do we really need?

As much as the judgment of how money is being spent on salaries is important, to over-scrutinize them leads to more problems than its worth.  

I think most teacher salaries are over-scrutinized with respect to local politics, and the general effect are teachers not able to be paid their worth, and constant conflicts over teacher salaries which leads them to strike and play hard ball every time their pay comes up to question.  

I&#039;d say if there is a problem with staff salaries being too high, then a general allotment of public money towards staff should be argued.  If they want to venture out of that allotment, it needs to come from private funds... not the public purse.</description>
