McGovern Voted For Ford?

“I have to tell you something I’ve never said before publicly. I voted for him in 1976.”

Considering that Carter was one of the first candidates backed by the emerging religious right movement, I can understand why McGovern would have gone with Ford, especially if he knew the man. From what we’ve been hearing lately, to know Gerald Ford was to respect his candor, devotion and intellect.
