I have heard of it. Whether we are there or not, we will be soon. We will not be ready, because no one wants to face the consequences of addressing the problem.

We all hear a lot about alternative fuels to deal with the problem. No one seems to be looking at a major cutback in our standard of living to bring about a meaningful result, both for decreased petroleum supply & environmental concerns. As a result, we will end up being forced to cut the standard - without taking the time to be ready. But ose-who-have-almost-all-of it will be ready at the expense of the rest of us.
