Your room mate needs to pray like crazy that is is only another 2 years, I have waited 17 years be 18 years this August 07 and I am not alowed to work at all thank god I know how to invest wisely christ knows how other people survive they must just give up, I called immigration after my waiting time frame of 990 days had been exceeded almost a year ago and the immigration officer told me it could be an extra 3-5 years and as much as 7 more years before they get to my application the officer basically told me when we get to it we get to it.
By the time I get a green card I will be too old to start any kind of career.

And again people wonder why illegals dont bother applying for the never never.

LOL yeah , 78% of American citizens want these disease infested illegals prowling around this country. Seriously though, the whole War on Terror is a joke, the media and our government are always fear-mongering to the fullest extent about the threat of a “terrorist” coming over to the U.S and inflicting some type of attack upon us, yet, the borders are WIDE open and our government isn’t doing a damn thing about it. The only solution to this mess were diving into is to elect Ron Paul for president in 2008. If you do not know who Ron Paul is, take some time out and research him, the policies he stands by, and what he is about; times are dire my friends, better choose wisely in the next election!

To give you an idea, my roommate is working on his green card now…it’s been 7 years already and it’s looking like it’ll be another 2 yet…at least. During this time frame, he can’t change employers or job categories or he has to start all over again.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that INS used 9/11 as an excuse to pretty much shut down its immigration operations…they’ve been falling further and further behind ever since. This provides further evidence that the sole purpose of the INS is to keep as many people out of the country as possible…especially those undesirable Mexicans.

This is a complete and fraudalent scam perpetrated by USA Today and Gallup Polls!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s amazing how Bush and his Democratic cronies can use their influence to force organizations to do their bidding. What is going on- Gallup ended up quizing only the Illegals households? Amnesty is opposed by 80% of the American people, so where did they get their results. All the illegals brought to our country is rape, murder, disease, poverty, low IQ’s, crime and violence, to name just some of their outstanding qualities. Any guest worker program is pure hypopcracy. It will bankrupt this great country, and do you people of this country want to force your grandchildren to all be forced to file for bankrupcy? It is ridiculous that people keep harping on about not being fair and people should follow the rules and laws etc etc Has anyone got any idea how many years it takes to get a visa for this country even adults of American citizens have a wait period of 5 years plus another 7 for a visa, rules are so strict on getting in that if you wait years for your forms to be processed and make one mistake on the form or miss checking a question you are required to start the time frame again…

The immigration system is plain in-humane it plays with peoples lives and makes it near on impossible to come either by rules or by the shear wait time which anybody knows a lot can happen in someones life waiting 5-15 years for a green card… The time frames need to be more reasonable for applications other wise people will always say they have no choice but to illegally stay even if they are eligible. I am a son of an American and I have waited so far 17 years since 1990 and because of mistakes on forms and applications and ripped of by lawyers I still wait, even when I am accepted I have to wait up to 7 more years for a visa, I totally understand why people don’t bother applying especially people that just want a better life and have no family to apply through.

The arguments against amnesty (at least the sensible ones) reduce to
1) we shouldn’t reward people who broke the law to come here, and
2) it’s not fair to those who played by the rules and are still waiting to come.
To which there are, happily, relatively straightforward solutions:
1) fines, penalties, etc. on the way to regularizing their status, and
2) raising the current rediculous quotas so as to let those who have been cooling their heels for years come in.

With any luck, the legislation that eventually passes will incorporate both.
