What Gun Closet?
By Dyre42 | Related entries in Bad Decisions, Guns and Ammo, NewsOver at The Atlantic Andrew Sullivan asks “If gun rights are civil rights, why would anyone feel the need to hide the fact that they own one?” in regards to a story that the Tennessean published the names of all owners of concealed carry permits in the state.”
Those records are public and thus fair game, but if a media outlet provides the names of those who have gone through the often tedious process of state licensing then they should also publish the names of all living criminals in the state who have committed crimes with illegally possessed weapons so that the public can make a comparison between the two.
It’s not about hiding, it’s about responsible journalism and bias.

I’m with you here… if you’re going to have a gun, the whole POINT of a concealed carry law is ‘uncertainty curbing violence’.

On occassion, despite his best efforts, Sullivan’s philosophical tourette syndrome causes the revelation into his actual IQ – so veiled in the verisimulitude of reasonableness, and diginity, and irreproachability. He’s an ass and this proves it.

I beg to differ Dos. Sully is a smart fella but he has certain preconceived notions and biases. For me, it’s hard to guess where he come down on topic.
But he often gives his positions enough thought so that disagreeing with him causes one to carefully consider one’s position.

He ain’t always right but he’s usually interesting.
