Yes, those are bottles of water.
Beijing, China: Xu Jiehua (r), the wife of the detained Chinese environmental activist Wu Yilong, sits behind water samples collected by Wu Yilong from Chinese urban rivers and lakes.
Progress comes with a price, and when you don’t have a democracy…things can get even more out of hand.

I just don’t have words other than, if I turned on my faucet to neon water, I’d kill someone.
How in the world can you let your water turn colors like that.
Hell if my water was off from clear in any form I’d be upset.

I don’t think they came right from the faucet, they appeared to have been collected by near-by water resources, but either way it’s a huge cause for concern. Just because we’re not direct neighbors doesn’t mean that type of stuff doesn’t have an ecological effect on everyone.
