I'm a liberal in many ways, particularly social; however, I have always felt that Robert Heinlein had the right idea about citizenship; that it needs to be earned either by military service or some other form of service to your fellow citizens. My experience ss a retired Naval enlisted person has taught me that some people are simply not suited for military service and therefore would cause more problems than they are worth.
