Using the trappings of his office to engage in lascivious sexual acts while on the peoples’ dollar?

Craig was using the trappings of the mens crapper while on the people's toilet. Not only hypocrasy, but disgusting and unsanitary as well.

"Some Republicans are indeed screaming, particularly the party’s social conservative wing, which places a high priority on ethics and family values."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Republican party supposed to stand for "ethics and family values?" It's understandable to give the GOP a break when a single member gets caught with his pants down, however, isn't this what the Republican party flogged Clinton for? Using the trappings of his office to engage in lascivious sexual acts while on the peoples' dollar?

This isn't an isolated case where one Republican strayed from his "ethical" foundation that is "hallmark" of the Republican party. There was the Spokane, Washington Republican Senator who solicited sex with a young gay man, also offering him a job. There were more serious allegations of having molested two young boys more than 20 years beforehand which he denied.

There was Mark Foley, the Republican Congressman from Florida. Accused of having improper contact with pages working on the Senate floor.

And then...Republican Congressman, Jim Kolbe of Arizona accused of having improper conduct with at least two teenagers, a 16-year old page and a recently graduated page. One participant, said of Congressman Kolbe that he was uncomfortable with the attention Kolbe paid to one of the former pages. He was "creeped out by it," he said, adding that there was a lot of "fawning, petting and touching" on the teenager's arms, shoulders and back by Kolbe.

And now there is Craig. The Republicans are by no means alone, the democrats have committed the very same types of acts. The reason I bring up the Republicans is because of the irony. This is the party that wished to legislate your morality and "family values." These are are the same men are are zealously anti-gay--passing anti-homosexual legislation all the while they are out soliciting gay sex and trying to doink little boys (and big ones too.) There's an image problem here. For a party that touts its self as the morally "superior" party, the actions of its members run counter to that claim.

Republicans are pro-life, yet they are the biggest advocates of war, which undeniably kills thousands and thousands of innocent woman and children. Republicans are supposedly anti-homosexuality, yet they are caught soliciting gay sex. The level of hypocrisy is overwhelming.
