"Jeremy,
I am betting you vote for the Democratic candidate for president in 2008, regardless of who it is."

Of course you'd think that MW, because me and your opinions diverge so widely, you must know every move I plan to make.

Once again I'm reminded of 2003 when Howard Dean looked like a mortal lock for the Dem nomination.

Hillary's still the smart-money pick for the Dems in 2008, not because she's invincible but simply because she's in the best position, with the most resources, to survive a war of attrition against Obama et al. But it's no slam-dunk any more, if it ever really was.

I screwed up that last paragraph:

We can fight terrorism and remain true to our principles. Something America has completely abandon while Bush has led this country. America for Americans, Iraq for Iraqis. It’s that simple.

"As most of you know who read this blog, I’m not a Hillary fan. She may be a very sincere person IN PERSON, but to the outside world I think she feels like a shill. I don’t think people will trust her, and after the Dems fielded Al Gore and John Kerry, a Hillary candidacy is exactly the opposite what Dems need."

I was a registered Democrat for 9 years before this last November election in which the Dems took control of both houses. I voted for the Dems across the board. My hope was that the Democrats would bring accountability back to politics like they promised. I wanted them to end the war in Iraq. They haven't done a Goddamn thing that they promised.

They should be stopping congress and gradually withdrawing funds for this disgusting war. They aren't. Needless to say, I am no longer a Democrat, they aren't getting vote. Hilliary makes my stomach turn. She addresses all the talking points and her position changes depending on where the wind is blowing. I will vote for a Republican if Hilliary is elected the Democrat presidential hopefully, just because I'm that pissed off.

I want this country to stop engaging in torture, unjust military tribunals, stop spying on (Americans) and get the authorization to spy on those who are suspected of terrorist activities. I want this country to act like American Goddamn it! not like Nazi f'ken Germany. Sticking a "American flag sticker" and a "support your troops sticker" on your car doesn't make you a good American, standing by the principles in which this nation once revered IS.

I am trying to remember, it seems to me that someone on this blog said something like

"...I am not quite ready to concede the nomination belongs to Clinton. She has too much time to lose it, and I’ve got a feeling she’ll figure out a way to do just that."

Oh wait.

That was me.

She hasn't blown it yet, but we are starting to see the cracks in the armor.

New rule: you quote Politico and your blog entry is null and void. Surely you can make your point without quoting those hacks.

Well, if they're hacks they're equal opportunity hacks. I'm going to keep quoting them because they give it to both sides of the aisle AND they don't pretend to be anything more than a glorified editorial site. Like a group blog only more organized and much better funded.

I read a great commentary on how the Dems, which I am one, can stop Sen. Clinton. It is a sad day when a conservative has the right answer.

They should just use the line, Senator your no Bill Clinton
