Hillary Already Conceding Iowa?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Hillary, Iowa

I ran across this quote over at Political Wire from a Clinton spokesman:

“Our definition of success doesn’t necessarily mean coming in first.”

It’s pretty obvious what’s going on here. She’s losing ground in the polls so expectations are being set accordingly. Because the only way she can mute Iowa’s effect on the rest of the race is to make it seem inconsequential. But for somebody who has been positioned as the heir apparent, a loss in Iowa is huge.

Any Iowans want to weigh in on this?
