Lieberman Endorses McCain

Not just for the Republican nomination. Joe’s endorsing John for President.
HILLSBOROUGH, N.H. (AP) - The Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000 endorsed Republican John McCain for president on Monday, scandalizing Democrats in Washington and giving the GOP hopeful a much-needed boost in New Hampshire where independents outnumber Republicans and Democrats.Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, said he chose his longtime Senate colleague because he has the best shot of breaking partisan gridlock in Washington. Both men also are strong and vocal supporters of the war in Iraq.
“On all the issues, you’re never going to do anything about them unless you have a leader who can break through the partisan gridlock,” said Lieberman, who was Al Gore’s running mate seven years ago. “The status quo in Washington is not working.”
Lieberman is officially now an independent. He’s completely crossed over and there’s not going back. And even though he caucuses with the Democrats, that may well change after this.
Biggest question of the day, does this REALLY help McCain? Republicans have always been wary on the Arizona Senator and Lieberman is certainly not a conservative. Sure, he may be a hawk, but he supports a lot of liberal policies. So much so that I think this will hurt McCain overall. Will it may help him capture New Hampshire? Yeah, but it’s doubtful that can really spring board him to other wins. After all, he’s won that state before and we all saw how that movie ended.
Nonetheless, this was surprising and speaks to a renewed momentum in the McCain camp. And that means a Republican field that’s even more fractured!

And AIPAC endorses Lieberman. And what do you know? McCain is an Iraq war hawk.

McCain is an Iraq war hawk… and so am I. That’s where the mutual interests ends.
It doesn’t matter if Joe Lieberman endorses McCain, the majority of conservatives are not happy with him. He is too much into wanting to accomodate liberals and finding a “middle of the road” solution, even when it’s counterproductive, as in the case of immigration.

John McCain has a growing scandal in Texas. A McCain Campaigner has been linked to a corupt small town Police Chief in Ellis County, outside of Dallas.
The story will break in tomorrow morning’s Ellis County Press. It’s a doozie.
