Think about the times we're living in. Talking about Christianity being an Army is not the wisest move for a candidate to make because it could hinder progress in the WoT. There are a lot of traditional conservative Republicans who don’t like his overtly religious tone, and I can only imagine that him framing it in militaristic language only exacerbates their dislike.
