Elisabetta, I didn't take offense. I wondered why you asked me about Democrats when the post was about Huckabee's chances within the Republican party. There's a disconnect there, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

David, seriously, give it a rest.

Dave, I stated why I thought Huckabee's military metaphor was a problem. There are a lot of traditional conservative Republicans who don't like his overtly religious tone, and I can only imagine that him framing it in militaristic language only exacerbates their dislike. Think about the times we're living in. Talking about Christianity being an Army is not the wisest move for a candidate to make because it could hinder progress in the WoT. I understand your points, but just because these things exist in pop culture doesn't mean it's smart for Huckabee to speak them as a nominee.

Justin, I asked because I wanted to know. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s what feedback is for. Didn’t realize you’d take it as an offense.

With regard to David, as I wrote in another thread, he is unable to share a lucid thought on the issues, so he comments on me, and does a lousy job at that.

I am puzzled as to why you think the military metaphor, in a religious context, is such a problem for Huckabee. From "Battle Hymn of the Republic" to "Onward Christian Soldiers", this kind of imagery has permeated many of America's most beloved traditional hymns. And would you not agree that the Salvation Army is one of the most highly regarded faith based charities in the nation? Add to that the fact that, in sharp contrast to the Vietnam era, we are now living in a time where the image of the soldier is exalted in pop culture, almost at times to the point of deification. No, I don't agree that framing his religioous beliefs in military language is going to hurt Mike Huckabee. On the contrary, I think it will help him big time. And he is plenty smart enough to realize this. [Can you say "Chuck Norris"?]

I do that that Huckabee becomes more unlikeable by the day - but my question is how long will it take, like before super tuesday? I mean for one thing he didn't even make on to some of the big candidate rating sites like fittobepres.com until just now. I don't think its a question of if he'll fall now, more of a question of when.

She asked about democrats because it's her only trick. Think about it, she is trying to defend the party that has done everything in it's power to destroy America. She has no idea why she supports them, she's just been told to and can't form a thought of her own so she obeys.

If Dems talked like this? Yeah, definitely. Stating you believe in god is one thing. Saying that you're part of God's "army" is entirely different.

Also, if you understand the point of the post, I'm saying that this is not a good move for Huckabee politically and it's helping his opponents. I don't see why you would ask me about Democrats, but I answered it nonetheless.

There's nothing more blatant than God's Own Party when it comes to religion and politics intermingling no matter what some apologists try to claim.
