Shorter Republican Fox News Forum

In case you missed it, Veracifier edited together the good parts.

Mitt handled himself well. That seems to be the story here. He’s not backing down from that Iowa loss and the strategy seems to be working.

Also, he really caught Huckabee off guard and made him sound like a politician. Huckabee has always been about straight talk, and he just needed to admit that he raised taxes in Arkansas and not apologize for it. Sometimes, as a governor, you need to do tough things. You can’t always lower taxes. He could have turned this around on Romney, but he didn’t.

After watching the Fox News Forum, the one person that stood out positively, in my mind was Mitt Romney. Considering that I am still miffed at him about the mandated insurance, if elections were today he’d get my vote.

Huckabee’s demeanor presents some basic issues. I don’t fault him for believing in God, at all. Unfortunately, he came across skirting the issues and I fear that if he were to run against Obama the republicans would lose. Simply because Obama is more charismatic, that’s all.

The leader of the country should possess more than charisma. Bill Clinton had it and his presidency was one sham after another. For some, as long as he looked good internationally, covered up his lies, or feigned contrition, nothing else mattered.

For some of us that are real conservatives, balancing the budget mattered more than his immoral sex life. Ron Paul is now the only republican that believes in that. The rest are still talking about cutting taxes while we add 50% to military spending and are $10 trillion in debt!
