Will Obama Supporters Go For Hillary?

He wonders aloud…

I have no doubt that once the nomination contest is over, I will get the people who voted for her. Now the question is can she get the people who voted for me?

And then Jason Zengerle speculates…

The Clintons’ strategy seems to be banking on the idea that even if they take the low road to winning the nomination, Hillary will still get Obama’s old supporters in the general election, because those voters will have nowhere else to go. I don’t think there are too many of them who would go to McCain, but what if they just stayed home?

Ummm, don’t be so sure we wouldn’t go for McCain…

Umm, Bloomberg anyone? Does anyone want to at least kick the idea around? Bueller?

Speaking for myself - as an Obama supporter - I would never vote for Hillary Clinton. Clinton, Bush, Clinton, Bush - it’s like a bad dream. If McCain had been the Republican nominee in 2K I honestly don’t know who I would have voted for. I guaranty that if Hillary is the Democratic nominee I will not be voting Democratic for the presidency. I would vote for McCain if Hillary were the nominee, I would also strongly support an Independant - probably over McCain. I would never stay home - but my hatred for the Clintons - although irrational - will force me to vote against her no matter what. I would like to see a woman president - in many respects I find women in politics far more reasonable and willing to talk rather than resort to fisticuffs - just not Hillary. She has too much baggage, and her husband is a and will always be a disgrace to the office - he should never get near the White houswe again. Wow am I opinionated……..:)

I’ll never vote for Hillary. I might vote for McCain if I’m provided with the option of that vs. staying home. But if I can’t have Obama, I want Bloomberg.

As an Obama supporter, I have always been guided by a sense of fairness. I think many of us feel this way.
If Barack maintains his delegate and popular vote lead on June 3 and the Supers overturn my vote and nominate Hillary, then that would be unfair and I will either vote Nader (if I am really feeling spiteful) or write in Barack as a protest. Bottom line is, if its unfair, I dont vote for Hillary. I will not reward the DEm party with my vote that was stolen from me.
If Hillary can beat Barack in Delegates AND Poular Vote, then I would vote for her because that would be a fair decision.
