I ask Ron Paul about Iraq and Iran

If we pull out of Iraq immediately, will Iran move in? I asked Congressman Ron Paul, one of this election’s biggest proponents of immediate troop withdrawal.

I still stand by my position. What do you think?

I don’t think that there is any other candidate who would have given you such a “real” and honest answer. We need leadership like this.

Wait a minute. First he says we’ve already lost to one of our enemies. Is he implying that it served our interests better with Saddam in power? Then he says the Iranians have already moved in, but there is more local control by the shiites - what is that supposed to mean?

Then he seems to advocate “self determination.” Well how the F’ are they supposed to have self-determination with the Baath party dictatorship? Wasn’t he against they war to begin with? What the hell does he care about self determination for the Iraqi people?

Then he says its not a disaster if the balance of power shifts to Iran — who he just declared 2 seconds ago were our enemies — because they can sell oil that belongs to Iraq? What the hell is he talking about ?

Banjo, it might be a “real honest answer,” in that Ron Paul honestly doesn’t really know what’s going on in the world.

    Jimmy,
Ron is saying their the enemy of the current administration, not the american people.

Why would it be so bad with Saddam back in power, we don’t go broke as a nation, their oil output remains significant, and we don’t further piss off the middle east and the general world with our nation building. Remember, the entire reason for oustng sadamm were the wmds that don’t exist.

He talks about self determination of the entire people in the region, that they decide what happens, not a western nation that buys their oil.

Ron Paul is spot on with his assessment there Jimmy.. in fact you’re the one who doesn’t know what’s going on in the world. Ron Paul has much more wisdom than you or the author of this site does.

  5. Brian Says:

Jimmy, Ron Paul answered the Iranian question in his smack-down of Hannity on FOX’s post-debate after the September 5th debate.
