Final Super Tuesday Delegate/Vote Count For Republicans

These are the latest numbers (I think)…

McCain: 615 4,220,296
Romney: 268 3,497,341
Huckabee: 169 2,232,530

Huckabee really came on strong, and if he would have won Missouri, that would have been huge.

Romney was really hoping on a stronger showing and it’s unclear if he’s going to spend more of his money on what’s becoming a losing cause. Also, the whispers are that Romney may want to run again in 4 years, ala Reagan, and if he drops out now he can save a lot of face among party insiders who will set that machine in motion for him in 2012.

One thing’s for sure…say hello to John McCain the Republican nominee. And if Dems pick Hillary to run against him, well…if there’s anything I have faith in its Democrats’ unique ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The ONLY way this Republican household would ever vote for McCain is if he had Governor Mitt Romney as his running mate. If that doesn’t happen, we will have to suffer through four years of Hillary or Obama in the White House.
