Hillary Wins New Mexico!

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Hillary

A bit of good news in an otherwise dreary week.

From TPM:

State Democratic Party chairman Brian Colón announced at a press conference today that Hillary received 73,105 votes to Obama’s 71,396 votes, a margin of victory of 1,709. Given the close result, the final allocation of the state’s 26 pledged delegates is likely to be somewhere around an even 13-13 split.

I guess it’s only a win in spirit since the delegates were split, but I’m sure she’ll take anything she can get right now.

This probably is worse for Hillary than good. If the vote is split that closely, and she’s relying on Hispanic voters to carry her over the top, New Mexico was the place she should have won in a big way. A marginal win makes it look like she’s headed to defeat very soon.

When did this blog become such a Hillary fan site?
