I concluded that Hillary was very venal and not that bright when Time (or Newsweek) did an in-depth cover story on Whitewater in the 1990s. Jim McDougal, who had cut the Clintons in on his plan for the resort development, tried to explain to Hillary that it was going south and that there would not be any dividends from the venture, despite his earlier promises.
Her reaction? I want my money! As I recall, McDougal had not asked the Clintons for any actual investment besides their positions and pull.

I am beginning to think it's a myth that Mrs. Clinton is smart. She seems to be surrounded by yes-people who keep her in a state of unreality.

And didn't she flunk her DC bar exam ?

Just asking....

You are not alone.

There are tens of millions of people who will stay home if she's the nominee who otherwise would vote for Obama.

And Mark Penn is a big reason why.

I'm amazed that a person as smart as HRC would continue to keep Mark Penn on the payroll.

That Mark Penn is a top Clinton strategist is reason enough to support her.

As CEO of the world's largest (and most venal) PR firm, he has been a spin-meister for Big Tobacco for 20 years, including when the 7 CEO's swore under oath that smoking does not cause cancer.
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/7/21238/61296/221/432022

More recently, it turns out his firm received millions in lobbying contracts with the nuclear industry -- at the same time he and Clinton were attacking Obama for his efforts to regulate nuclear emissions. (Barbara Boxer backed up Obama, refuting Hillary's claims.)

I have never voted for anyone but Democrats, but if Hillary is nominated it will be my first time, and I will work to see that she loses.

How the two campaigns of Hillary and Obama have been run should serve as windows into how each one of them can perform in the White House. This is a good opportunity folks to compare and contrast both the successes and failures of the two campaigns!
