I am also sad to see CQ shut down. I didn’t usually agree with him, but I always found his blog readable whenever I wanted to look at a topic from a right-leaning perspective.

I agree Justin. Morrissey's blog was good. it was my destination site for a rational rightwing perspective. He also had a very tolerant comment policy and permitted a wide range of views and discussion in the comments. Not an echo chamber like other right wing sites RedState . Cripes - I am talking about him in the past tense like he is dead. I didn't do a lot of commenting there, but did get into some good discussions. I don't know what Ed's motivation was, but the Malkin/HotAir motivation is pretty clear when you look at an Alexa traffic comparison of the two sites over the last year. In a white hot political season, Hot Air was trending down and CQ was trending up.

I don’t understand where CQ was getting any respect anyway since he’s been just like any other extremist right wing blog since the first time I ever read something on it.
