Geraldine Ferraro: The “Gift” That Keeps On Giving

Well, I can believe it if you think she’s trying to inoculate the Clinton campaign from any further charges of injecting race into the campaign. Because if Ferraro can pull off the lie that Obama’s campaign did this instead of her, Hillary’s people will get a free pass from now on. So it does make some amount of strategic sense, as long as Ferraro is okay with it completely destroying her reputation.
But Geraldine…you said Obama was only in the position he is now because he’s black. Don’t you understand how twisted and odd that statement is? Not only that, you claim it’s fact, when all you can do is back it with your own opinion. And you’re surprised that Obama’s campaign hit back against that?

And given her eerily similar statement on Jesse Jackson in 1984, Ferraro is quickly becoming the biggest joke on the campaign trail.

I don’t necessarily think her first comment was racist, just rather stupid. That logic could be used for just about anyone in any scenario–herself and Hillary Clinton. Her “they’re attacking me because I’m white” defense is equally ridiculous.
