This is a good sign for sure. Now we need to see the general election polls move the same way.

@ Meredith

You sure are a typical white person. Taking a quote out of context, too ignorant to listen to the whole speech (easily found on youtube, easy even for a typical white person like you) and posting your racial insinuations in the comments.

From,
A far from typical, educated, not ignorant white person

Seriously, the speech was a Rorschach if there ever was one. Obama predicted it himself. We can rise above this nonsense once and for all, or we can cherry-pick and remove things from their context and focus on tearing each other down. Does anyone actually think Obama or Clinton are racists? What is wrong with the Democrats- gifted a perfect environment for them to take control and a very weak opponent, and now they're risking it all over these stupid issues. Embarrassing.

Hi speech was brilliant in so many ways. He spoke like a true historical leader and treated the audience with respect and dignity.

If you didn't want to like it to begin with, you would not be open to being treated with dignity and respect by a true statesman, and would therefore focus on the tiniest little points you could find to dismiss this historical moment.

In short: people finding fault with "typical white person" are searching for any tiny fault they can find to dismiss one of the most cogent and intelligent speeches any politician has delivered in our lifetime.

Compare his eloquence with the current president, who has trouble using basic grammar and words with more than a few syllables.

@Meredith: The phrase is more accurately quoted "Typical white person who...". The "who" is very important. If you were to refer to a "Typical person who drinks a lot", your statement would not be referring to the typical person, but only one who drinks a lot. Even two Fox news anchors were able to discern the difference. Please do not be so eager to be offended; it is a disease in this country.

Please note that the maximum margin of error is ±3% on this poll, so it does not yet indicate a clear and unequivocal lead. He has, however, eliminated the temporarily statistically significant lead that Hillary appears to have had on March the 18th, 2008.

He may be "turning it around among some people" but not for this "typical white person" (whatever that means other than being a racial slur) and many others I know who will NEVER vote for Obama now.

The good news is that this happened now in march, rather than in october, seems like Obama has begun to turn it around and has eight months to regain his momentum
